Treating bipolar disorder is like treating a cold for the mind.
I am sharing my experience of overcoming bipolar disorder through treatment.
I hope this helps anyone who has similar concerns.

Just as you should go to the hospital when you are physically sick, you should also go to the hospital when you are mentally sick. I used to suffer from depression, but I also had symptoms of bipolar disorder, so I received treatment for bipolar disorder. First of all, if you feel like you are mentally sick, whether it is bipolar disorder or depression, please visit the hospital.

I was so sick that I couldn't handle it on my own, so I went to the hospital and received counseling for bipolar disorder, and I was prescribed medication that helps with bipolar disorder. After taking the medication for about two weeks, it definitely worked. I felt like my mood was calmer. Unfortunately, the medication had side effects. I could have replaced it with another medication for bipolar disorder, but when I took the medication, I felt sleepy and weak all day long, so I gradually reduced the dose. Of course, you should consult with your doctor before deciding on the course of treatment for bipolar disorder.

Besides medication, what helped me was a regular and proper routine.

  1. Sleep: I try to sleep before midnight and I don't nap no matter how sleepy I am. Even a little sleep during the day can affect my nighttime sleep. I really need to change my day and night lifestyle.

  2. Eating habits: I should avoid delivery food or instant food. If possible, I cook for myself. I am not good at cooking, but I think the process of cooking for myself is also psychologically healthy.
  3. Exercise: You don't have to go to the gym and do a lot of exercise. Just go outside and walk. It's better to say walk than exercise. Moving your body is better for your mental health than staying still. If you have bipolar disorder, you should definitely go to the hospital for counseling and medication. Also, you can treat bipolar disorder by not relying on medication alone and trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle routine of your own will.
